A litte announcement

I'm going to Japan! Yes! I have been accepted as a  Japanese Government Scholarship Student in Osaka University and I will be studying there for one year. I'm going there in September, but first I will have to apply for visa. This is a dream come true. I have always wanted to go to Japan. It may be hard, not seeing my friends or family for a year, but it will be worth it, I'm sure of it.

My Manga Collection

Well since this is a blog mainly about anime and manga I decided to start off with showing you my manga collection. These are only the volumes that are not in Bulgarian. I will have a special post for manga, published in my country and I'm saving the material :P
I used to buy all the manga I see before my eyes, but since money doesn't grow on trees I decided to buy only things that I really like. So here they are :)
  • Blade of the Immortal / 無限の住人 by Samura Hiroaki - vol 1 and vol 5. Both volumes are in English. I simply love the artwork of this one.
  •  Card Captor Sakura / カードキャプターさくら by Clamp - vol 4, English
  • Clover by Clamp - complete, English. Actually this is a special edition that contains all the 4 volumes of the manga plus a really beautiful art book.
  •  Death Note / デスノート by Obata Takeshi (art) and Ohba Tsugumi (story) - vol 12, English. I am not a really big fan of Death Note, actually, but I love Obata's artwork and this volume in particular has some amazing scenes.
  •  Fullmetal Alchemist / 鋼の錬金術師 by Arakawa Hiromu - vol 13 (English) and vol 20 (Japanese)
  • The art of Fullmetal Alchemist - vol 2 (art book) I really treasure this one, because it's a present from a friend.
  •  Hellsing / ヘルシング by Hirano Kouta - vol 3, English
  •  Inuyasha / 犬夜叉 by Takahashi Rumiko - vol 1 and vol 6 (anime-manga). Both volumes are in English. The anime-manga was a present for my birthday.
  •  Model by So Young Lee - vol 1, vol 2, vol 3, vol 4. Volumes are in Russian. I hope they deliver the last 3 volumes here soon.
  •  Ruroni Kenshin / るろうに剣心 by Watsuki Nobuhiro - vol 1 and vol 2 are in English, vol 3, vol 4 and vol 5 are in Japanese. This is my most favourite manga.Volume 1 and 2 were presents for my birthday and I am really sad to say that they are falling apart T_T
  • Voyage to the Moon World by Shizuka Kaoru- this is the Kenshin light novel. I had a lot of trouble getting this one XD
  •  Genju no Seiza / 幻獣の星座 by Akino Matsuri - vol 1, Russian. Present for my birthday.
  •  Shaman King / シャーマンキング by Takei Hiroyuki - vol 5, English. The reason I bought this volume exactly is because it shows how different the anime and the manga are and that the manga is much more superior.

  •  Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle by Clamp - vol 1, vol 9, vol 10, vol 23. Volumes are in English
  •  Vampire Hunter D by Kikuchi Hideyuki (story) and Amano Yoshitaka (art) - vol 1, vol 2. Volumes are in English.

  • The Mammoth Book of Best New Manga -  vol 2 and vol 3. Most of the stories in these two are stupid and the artwork is kind of crappy, but among these there are some really nice manga stories and that's why I still keep these.

That's about it for now. Feel free to ask any questions :)

Introduction

Hi!
My name is Veselina Karakehayova and from now on I am starting this blog.
I will use this first post to make a short introduction about what I'm planning to do here. Most of all I will be talking about things that go on around me and mainly about Japanese things, Japanese pop culture like anime and manga, Japanese studies and so on. I will be focusing about the things that are happening in my home country - Bulgaria, because I think that they need more exposure. The first few post will be mostly about me and my life as an otaku. Then I'm going to introduce some anime events here and give you some tips about collecting manga or figures or stuff like that. I was thinking of doing this blog bilingual (English and Japanese) but since I don't have much time I decide to keep it in English for now. I may add some Japanese in the future. I will also be posting a lot of photos and some videos.
But let me tell you more about myself :)
I'm studying Japanology at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and I am just finishing my second year. I love anime and manga and this was the reason I chose this major. So far it has been going quite well for me and the whole studying process has been really interesting (of course, there are ups and downs, but you just can't go on without them). There are many things that I have learned from my university teachers but there are also many things that I have learned from my own experience or from books that I've read or from endless browsing the internet. I love what I am learning and doing and this keeps me going on even thought I've had some hard times.
I am also a hobbyist artist. You can see my works here -> ichirin-no-yotsuba.deviantart.com , if you're interested, of course.
Aaand that's about it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, just don't make them too personal ;)
I hope that this becomes an interesting blog and everyone enjoys reading it.
